space management

  • Use of Ergonomy in order to increase the affordance, security and number of pans on the cooktop;
  • Allow the user to position long pots on dedicated special burners;
  • Improve accessibility of every burner to make it easier to position and remove stoves (from small to big ones).

Learn by doing

  • Make it easier to cook complex dishes that require many steps and the use of multiple burners at the same time;
  • Make controls immediately comprehensible to an unexperienced user;
  • Integrate the gas hob into the kitchen ecosystem to reduce the amount of inputs requested to the user and  streamline the experience;
  • Focus on safety and help the user to avoid mistakes.

OTHER CONSTRAINTS

  • Adapt to different habits seamlessly;
  • Choose easy to clean thinking to design shapes and select materials;
  • Use shapes, dimensions, position to communicate the function to the user.

ABSTRACT

Eolie is a smart interactive cooktop designed for Candy in the first-semester design course of my master.
The cooktop is designed for those who wants to learn by cooking, controls each household appliance and has simple and comprehensive controls.

The most distinctive part of the cooktop is the integrated scale, positioned on the smallest burner.
Pressure sensors under the grids made instantly recognizable the linked knob by blinking LEDs.
The object is connected to an App, which can interact with the entire kitchen ‘ecosystem’.
